Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 tsp instant dry yeast
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsps butter
Tools
- 1 KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer
- 1 Mixing Bowl
- 1 Proofing Lid
- 1 Square Cavity Mold
Steps
Put all the ingredients in the mixer bowl and work with the hook until the dough is smooth and homogeneous, then transfer it to a suitable bowl, cover it, and let it double in size. It will take about a couple of hours. Bring the dough back to the work surface, weigh it, and divide it into nine equal parts (you should get nine buns weighing about 2 oz each). Place the formed balls inside the square cavity mold, cover them with a tea towel, and let rise for thirty minutes. Bake the bread cubes in a preheated oven at 355°F for twenty minutes. Allow the buns to cool on a rack before cutting them.
Notes
If you prefer smaller buns, you can make pieces weighing 1.5 oz, and you’ll get a few more buns.
If desired, you can replace the butter with margarine and 150 ml of water with milk.
