The cantaloupe sorbet is a fresh and delicate summer dessert, perfect at the end of a meal, between courses, or as a summer snack: a sweet, colorful, fragrant, and aromatic cream. Making cantaloupe sorbet is very easy: a syrup of water and sugar, mint infusion, blended cantaloupe (make sure to choose a good one), and the Ninja Creami. Let’s head to the kitchen!

- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Rest time: 1 Day
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Cooking methods: Stove
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Summer
Ingredients
With these quantities, you will get a jar like the one provided with the machine.
- 10.5 oz cantaloupe melon (peeled and cut into pieces)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup water
- 12 leaves fresh mint
Tools
- 1 Saucepan
- 1 Hand Whisk
- 1 Blender
- 1 Ice Cream Maker Ninja Creami
Steps
In a small pot, heat the water with the sugar. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, add the washed mint leaves, and let them infuse for an hour. Blend the cantaloupe to obtain a cream. Strain the syrup to remove the mint and add the cantaloupe pulp. Stir to combine the ingredients and transfer the mixture into the jar provided with the Ninja Creami. Close with the lid and place in the freezer. When placing the jar inside the freezer, make sure it is on a flat surface and that the liquid inside is well leveled.
After the resting time, take the jar out of the freezer, remove the lid, and check that the mixture hasn’t frozen at an angle. Place the container with the sorbet in the machine’s outer bowl. Install the paddles (or blades) on the top of the outer lid, securing them well. Place the lid on the bowl containing the ice cream and rotate it clockwise to lock it. Place the bowl on the motor base and lock it in position. When it’s ready, you will hear a click.
Select the SORBET start program to begin processing. At the end of the process, all four dashes of the progress bar will blink and then turn off. Remove the bowl from the appliance and take out the container with the softened sorbet ready to be served.
Notes
If there is leftover sorbet, it can be stored in the freezer. When using it next time, if it’s too hard (which has never happened to me), just put it back in the machine and press the re-spin button.
