Lime and ginger flavored salt is a great seasoning for boiled or grilled fish dishes but is also excellent on grilled vegetables to give a touch of freshness. Very easy to make, lime and ginger flavored salt is prepared in just a few minutes, with few ingredients and few steps. Packaged in cute jars, it can also become a place card or a homemade gift that will surely be appreciated. This is a Thermomix recipe, but if like me you don’t have it, you can use a food processor. It’s a little more effort, but the final result is just as perfect.

- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 1 Piece
- Cooking methods: Oven, Electric Oven

- Seasonality: All Seasons
Ingredients
- 3.5 oz coarse salt
- 1 lime (zest without the white part)
- 0.07 oz fresh ginger (peeled root)
Tools
- 1 Food Processor Kitchen Aid
- 1 Baking Mat reusable parchment paper
Steps
Preheat the oven to 122°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper using a reusable baking mat. In the food processor bowl, add the coarse salt, lime zest, and fresh ginger. Operate the food processor and pulverize the salt (if necessary, take short breaks occasionally and then continue until reaching a fine texture similar to regular table salt). If you’re using the Thermomix or Monsieur Cuisine, set it for 15 sec./speed 10. Transfer the salt to the baking sheet and spread it out evenly in a single layer, avoiding clumps and overlapping. Let it dry in the warm oven for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely. Once the salt is cool, transfer it to a jar, preferably with an airtight seal, and store it in a cool, dry place.
