The mango sorbet made with Ninja Creami is fresh, sweet, fragrant, a perfect summer after-dinner treat. I don’t know about you, but I love mangoes. Since I discovered them, every time I find them at the supermarket, I buy them. And if they are at the right ripeness, they are a real delight. I know very well that these tropical fruits taste even better in their countries of origin, but what can we do but make do? Even bananas and avocados have a different flavor. Anyway, choose a juicy and slightly soft mango, and you’ll have an amazing mango sorbet!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Rest time: 1 Day
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 1 Piece
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons, Summer

Ingredients

With these doses, you get one of the jars that come with the machine.

  • 10.5 oz mango (cleaned and in pieces)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/2 lemon (juice)

Tools

  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Hand Whisk
  • 1 Ice Cream Maker Ninja Creami
  • 1 Chopper Kitchen Aid

Steps

  • In a saucepan, heat the water with the sugar. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. Peel the mango and blend it with the juice of half a lemon to obtain a cream. Add the mango pulp to the sugar water syrup. Stir to combine the ingredients and transfer the mixture into the jar provided with the Ninja Creami. Close with the lid and place in the freezer. When positioning the jar inside the freezer, make sure it’s on a flat surface and that the liquid inside is level.
After the rest time, take the jar out of the freezer, remove the lid, and check that the mixture hasn’t frozen unevenly. Place the container with the sorbet into the outer bowl of the machine. Install the blades (or paddles) on the top of the outer lid, securing them well. Place the lid on the bowl containing the ice cream and turn it clockwise to lock it. Place the bowl on the motor base and lock it in place. When it’s correctly positioned, you will hear a click.
Select the SORBET program to start processing. At the end of processing, all four dashes of the progress bar will blink and then go off. Remove the bowl from the appliance and take out the container with the softened sorbet ready to be served.
If there is leftover sorbet, it can be stored in the freezer, and for the next use, if it’s too hard (which has never happened to me), just put it back in the machine and start the re-spin button.

Tips

How to choose a mango: it should be slightly soft to the touch, yielding slightly but not mushy. Try to smell the aroma near the stem. If it doesn’t have a scent, it is not yet ripe.
