The overnight hazelnut porridge is a simple yet delicious recipe perfect for breakfast. Actually, I prefer overnight porridge in the summer because during the cold season my breakfast must be hot, or I can’t get moving, but since the temperatures allowed it, I carried it on throughout October. And I’m leaving it for you. Because if you’re among the brave and daring who can have a cold breakfast even in fall-winter, it might be useful to you. The overnight hazelnut porridge is prepared in the evening and kept in the fridge all night so you can wake up in the morning and enjoy it. This one is particularly delicious: small oat flakes, Greek yogurt, 100% hazelnut cream, and plant-based milk or frothed milk. To finish, a cream of water and cocoa, though next time I might skip it because the intense cocoa flavor overshadows the delicate hazelnut taste. At most, I’ll put grated dark chocolate. Anyway, try this overnight hazelnut porridge, and next time I’ll make it with pistachio. Then, enough cold porridge! For now.

Ingredients
The servings can be enough for one or two people depending on how much you eat. With this, I have breakfast for two days.
- 1/2 cup small oat flakes
- 1.4 oz milk (or plant-based beverage)
- 2.7 oz milk (or plant-based beverage to froth)
- 1 tablespoon 100% hazelnut cream
- 2 tsp chia seeds
- 5.3 oz Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- as needed water (enough to dissolve the cocoa into a smooth cream)
Tools
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Spoon for stirring
- 1 Cup with lid
- 1 Milk Frother
Steps
In a bowl, pour the oat flakes and chia seeds. Add the Greek yogurt, the forty milliliters of milk or plant-based beverage, and mix well. Froth the rest of the milk and add it gradually to the rest of the mixture. Pour the porridge into a cup or a container with a lid and place it in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Separately, in a small bowl, mix the cocoa with water and pour it over the surface of the porridge. If you like, you can add some hazelnut crumbs before enjoying it for breakfast. You can sweeten it with honey or another sweetener of your choice to make your porridge sweet. For example, I never add anything. I prefer it natural.
