Red Potatoes in Air Fryer

The red potatoes in the air fryer are a delicious side dish: crispy on the outside, soft and juicy inside, they are the light alternative to fried or baked potatoes. They cook directly on the grill or in the air fryer’s basket with a little oil and salt to taste, but if you like them and want to enrich the preparation, you can add herbs and spices as you like. Without boiling first, without preheating, without soaking in cold water, the red potatoes in the air fryer will be perfect! Try this recipe: you won’t give it up!

Red Potatoes in Air Fryer Sea View Kitchen
  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 2 people
  • Cooking methods: Air Frying
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All Seasons

Ingredients

  • 1.1 lbs red potatoes
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt

Tools

  • 1 Chopping Board
  • 1 Peeler
  • 1 Kitchen Knife
  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Perforated Parchment Paper
  • 1 Air Fryer GOURMETmaxx

Steps

  • Peel the potatoes, wash them, dry them, cut them into wedges and then into cubes. It’s important to ensure the cubes are more or less the same size for even cooking. Transfer the potatoes into a bowl, and season them with oil and salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasoning. Arrange the potatoes on the air fryer grill with a sheet of perforated parchment paper: my air fryer is a toaster oven type, but if you have a basket one, you can do without the parchment paper. Cook at 392 °F for 30/35 minutes (turning them halfway through) or until the potatoes are nicely golden, crispy on the outside, and soft and juicy inside. Serve the potatoes hot.

FAQ (Questions and Answers)

  • Can I use yellow potatoes instead of red ones?

With this direct cooking system, no. Yellow potatoes should be kept in cold water before proceeding with air fryer cooking to release their starch. To use yellow potatoes, it’s better to follow the recipe and procedure for “potatoes with Mediterranean herbs.”

  • Can I add herbs or spices?

Absolutely: sage, rosemary, garlic powder, sweet or smoked paprika, oregano, mixed potato seasonings.
