The roasted borettane onions in an air fryer are a truly exquisite side dish. You can prepare them in a thousand ways (sweet and sour, baked, caramelized, gratin, stewed, in sauce) but have you ever tried them roasted? Very few ingredients and a quick preparation because the onions are already cleaned and peeled, ready to cook. And since roasted onions tend to dry out a bit, I suggest adding some onion distillate, a gourmet condiment with a strong flavor and intense aroma that will be a special boost to the roasted borettane onions.

- 1.5 cups borettane onions
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- to taste salt
- 2 tablespoons onion distillate
Tools
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Air Fryer

Steps
Clean the onions by removing the outermost layer and roots if present. Transfer them to a bowl and season with oil and salt. Arrange them in a baking dish that is suitable for the air fryer, if you have the oven type, or directly in the basket and cook at 392°F for 40 minutes if you want them softer or for 25/30 minutes if you like them crispy. Once ready, let them cool down a bit and finish with the onion distillate before serving at the table.
