Seasoned Veal Strips

The seasoned veal strips are a simple second course, quick to prepare and cook: just a few steps and a handful of minutes to bring a perfect dish to the table for everyday dinner. The seasoned veal strips cook in just a few minutes over high heat: this way the meat will be well seared on the outside but the juices will remain inside keeping it tender. This step is important because the strips are thin and if you cook them too much they will become tough. To give that special touch to this simple dish at the end of cooking for the seasoned veal strips I used my precious Gusto Toscano onion tears. And what more can I tell you? Try them!

Ingredients

  • 10.5 oz veal strips
  • 3.5 oz sofrito mix (celery, carrots, and onions)
  • 2 leaves sage
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • 1/2 glass of red wine
  • 3 tbsps onion tears
  • to taste salt
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 Low Edge Casserole
  • 1 Mixing Spoon

Steps

  • In a casserole, heat the oil and let the sofrito, sage, and rosemary infuse. Then add the veal strips and brown them for a couple of minutes on each side. Deglaze with red wine and let it evaporate. Season with salt. At the end of cooking, add the onion tears, mix well, and serve the veal strips hot.
