Spiced savoy cabbage is a tasty, healthy, and flavorful side dish. It is easily prepared in a pan thinly sliced with a knife or mandoline and then stewed with oil, garlic, and spices: for my spiced savoy cabbage, I chose ginger and soy sauce. Excellent paired with meatballs, meatloaves, white meats, and pork, spiced savoy cabbage is a great dish for the cold season.

Ingredients
- 1 savoy cabbage
- 1/4 cup water
- 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- to taste ground ginger
- to taste salt
Tools
- 1 Cutting Board
- 1 Knife
- 1 Saucepan with low sides
Steps
Clean the savoy cabbage by removing the leaves, wash them, and cut them into thin strips. To achieve this, roll up the leaf and cut finely, removing the central rib, which is hard. In a pot, heat the four tablespoons of oil, add the savoy cabbage, add the hot water, cover, and cook for thirty minutes. Then drizzle with the soy sauce and add the spices to taste: I chose ground ginger. Adjust the salt but taste first because the soy sauce is already flavorful. Mix well, let cook for another five minutes, and then serve the side dish hot.
