Trivia
If a porcelain is Bone China, it means that bone ash is used in production along with porcelain stone and kaolin clay. It is a lightweight but very durable porcelain. The final product appears in a very delicate ivory color and is extremely glossy. Contrary to what its name suggests, the origins of this porcelain are English. Here, indeed, in the eighteenth century, some ceramicists discovered that bone ash could make porcelains stronger. Although today this type of porcelain is produced in different countries, including China, when we talk about Bone China, we mean English porcelain.
