The white pork stew, spiced and aromatic, cooked in the slow cooker is a simple second course to prepare and it’s one of those “low cost, maximum yield” recipes. Because you put it in and forget about it until it’s time to sit at the table. For the white pork stew, I used bay leaves and juniper berries, but from this base, you can select your preferred herbs and spices: rosemary, thyme, fennel, curry, cumin, garlic powder to your liking. And then, isn’t it convenient to find dinner ready?

Ingredients
- 1.3 lbs pork meat
- 0.4 cup white wine
- 10.5 oz onion
- 1 leaf bay
- 5 berries juniper
- 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Tools
- 2 Kitchen Cutting Boards
- 2 Kitchen Knives
- 1 Shallow Casserole

Steps
Cut the meat into pieces, season it with salt, bay leaf, juniper, and oil, and brown it well over high heat on all sides in a casserole. Deglaze with the white wine and let it evaporate. Meanwhile, peel the onion, slice it thinly, and season it with brown sugar. Transfer the onions into the slow cooker. Add the already browned pork, cover with the lid, and cook on HIGH for three and a half hours. At the end of the cooking time, the slow cooker (depending on the model you have) will keep the stew warm for six hours.
