Chocolate Pinecones

The chocolate pinecones are treats that are mainly prepared during the Christmas season and can be enjoyed as a simple dessert or to decorate themed cakes.

They look so cute and scenic that you wouldn’t even guess they take just a few minutes to make without even having to turn on the oven. In fact, the chocolate pinecones are no-bake sweets made by mixing crushed biscuits with milk, butter, and cocoa powder and garnished with boat-shaped cocoa cereals reminiscent of pinecone scales.

Now take a minute to read the recipe and then let’s COOK and EAT!!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 5
  • Cooking methods: No-bake
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Fall, Winter

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups cocoa biscuits
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 7/16 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • to taste Boat-shaped cocoa cereals
  • to taste powdered sugar

Tools

  • 1 Food processor
  • 1 Bowl

Steps

  • To prepare the chocolate pinecones, start by crushing the biscuits with a food processor.

Once you have a fine powder, transfer it to a bowl and add the melted butter (in a bain-marie or in the microwave), milk, and cocoa powder.

Mix the ingredients first with a fork and then with your hand to compact the dough, which should be homogeneous and soft enough to be shaped.

  • Continue by dividing the mixture into five parts and, with slightly wet hands, shape each piece into a cone with the wide base facing down.

At this point, start inserting, from top to bottom, the cereals onto the chocolate cones, ensuring that the various cereal rows are slightly staggered from one another to recreate the characteristic pinecone pattern.

Finish the preparation with a sprinkle of powdered sugar 😉.
