When summer temperatures are high, staying hydrated is absolutely important and drinking cold water is always the best solution, trying to avoid consuming carbonated and overly sugary drinks that often only give the illusion of quenching our thirst.
However, to give the palate a taste different from the neutral one of water, I often prepare a good lemonade or the lemon iced tea that my girls love so much.
The only things you will need to prepare it are water, sugar, tea bags (even decaffeinated if you prefer), and a large untreated lemon.
Now take a minute to read the recipe and then… let’s cook and eat!

Ingredients
- 1 lemon (large and untreated)
- 5 tablespoons sugar
- 4 1/4 cups water
- 3 tea bags Tea
Tools
- 1 Pitcher graduated
- 1 Peeler
- 1 Juicer
- 1 Saucepan
- 1 Sieve
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Funnel
- 1 Glass Bottle 1 L
Steps
To prepare the lemon iced tea, first, peel the lemon with a peeler, taking care not to remove the white part, which would give a bitter taste to your tea. Then squeeze the lemon and strain the juice.
In a saucepan, pour half a liter of water and add 5 tablespoons of sugar, and the lemon peel and juice. Then transfer the saucepan to the heat, and once it reaches a boil, cook for 3 minutes.
Meanwhile, pour half a liter of water into a bowl and infuse three tea bags. Then also add the lemon syrup, mix well, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
After this time, remove the tea bags, remove the lemon peels, pour the lemon tea into a bottle, and let it cool completely before transferring it to the fridge.
Tips
To prepare mint ice, put water and fresh mint leaves into the ice molds.
