Air fryer gratinated peppers, a delicious flavorful side dish that’s easy to make; they are also great simply eaten with a slice of bread. You can make air fryer breadcrumb-coated peppers in two ways depending on your preference: in the first way, you can cook and peel them first and then gratinate, or you can gratinate and cook them with the skin depending on whether the skin bothers you and maybe digest them better without it. I will leave you both versions in the procedure. The cooking time for air fryer gratinated peppers may vary depending on the type of air fryer you use (I use this airfryer HERE). How to prepare air fryer gratinated peppers
Let’s start preparing the air fryer gratinated peppers; you can cook them first, peel them, and then gratinate. Wash the peppers and place them in the air fryer basket. Cook at 392°F for 20 minutes, turning them occasionally for even cooking. When they are ready, let them rest in the basket for 15 minutes, then remove them, open them, remove the skin and internal seeds, and cut into strips.
If you don’t want to peel them first, cut the peppers into strips, remove the internal seeds, and wash them well.
Prepare the gratin, pour breadcrumbs into a plate, add a tablespoon of chopped parsley and the crushed or finely chopped garlic clove, mix well, and add extra virgin olive oil to create a moist, sandy mixture.
Place the strips in a baking dish or directly in the air fryer basket, add the breadcrumbs on the pepper strips, and a pinch of salt.
If you have already cooked and peeled the peppers, just cook the gratinated peppers at 374°F for 7 minutes, enough time to gratinate well.
If the peppers are still raw, place the strips in the air fryer and cook for 30 minutes at 374°F
When the air fryer gratinated peppers are ready, remove them from the fryer and serve hot or at room temperature.
How to store air fryer gratinated peppers
Keep them in the refrigerator for 2/3 days or at room temperature for 1 day.
