Baked potatoes soft inside, crispy outside, a delicious side dish that pairs perfectly with any main course. Whenever I make them, they are gone in no time, and everyone loves them. I know everyone knows how to make baked potatoes, but the result is not always the best, and many times I am asked for tips to make them perfect as our grandmothers used to. My husband loves baked potatoes well golden and crispy, so after various trials, I found this trick: first, I bake them in a static oven covered with a foil, then at the end, I remove it and turn on the fan oven, they turn out wonderfully. Especially, I let them soak for 10 minutes before cooking to lose excess starch. I recommend also trying OVEN-BAKED BREADED CHICKEN NUGGETS WITH POTATOES. Be sure to use yellow-fleshed potatoes, they are the most suitable. Now let’s see how to make perfect baked potatoes, and if you try them, let me know. Barbara

How to prepare Baked Potatoes
Let’s start preparing the Baked Potatoes. Peel the potatoes with a peeler or a sharp knife. Cut them into pieces that are not too small and try to make them the same size for even cooking.
Place them in a bowl and cover with water, leaving them to soak for 10 minutes. Then drain and rinse under running water, and dry them with paper towels. Preheat the static oven to 356°F
Chop the rosemary, sage, and garlic clove finely. Pour a drizzle of oil on the bottom of the baking dish, lay the potatoes evenly, add salt and pepper over all the potatoes, sprinkle the aromatic herb mixture, and drizzle generously with extra virgin olive oil
Cover the dish with a sheet of aluminum or baking paper and, when the oven is hot, bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the sheet, switch the oven from static to fan-forced, and bake for another 15 minutes, occasionally turning the potatoes. Watch them carefully to avoid burning.
When the Baked Potatoes are cooked and nicely golden, remove them from the oven and serve hot
How to store Baked Potatoes
The Baked Potatoes can be stored in the refrigerator for 2/3 days or can be frozen
