How to prepare baked stuffed tomatoes with meat
Let’s start preparing the baked stuffed tomatoes with meat. First, prepare the filling: place the ground meat in a bowl, wash the parsley and chop it finely into the bowl, add the egg, salt, cheese, and a splash of olive oil. Mix well to obtain a homogeneous mixture.
Add 4 full tablespoons of bread crumbs, mix everything; you should obtain a compact mixture. If necessary, add more bread crumbs, cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and let the mixture rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Wash the tomatoes, then with a knife remove the part where the stem was attached, and again with a knife widen the part to be able to fill them. Using a teaspoon or a corer, scoop out the tomatoes well, pour the pulp into the baking dish, cut the extracted pulp into pieces, and place it in the baking dish.
Take the filling out of the fridge and fill the tomatoes with the meat. If you have leftover ground meat, make small meatballs and place them in the baking dish along with the tomatoes. Add a pinch of salt and some extra virgin olive oil, add a few basil leaves so that the sauce becomes even more flavorful.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for 30 minutes, occasionally open the oven and with a spoon, take the sauce from the bottom of the baking dish and baste the tomatoes.
When the tomatoes are ready, remove them from the oven and serve them hot.
