Boiled Broccoli is a side dish that’s easy to make and pairs with any main course, whether meat or fish. Boiled broccoli can be used not only as a side but also to fill savory pies, make main dishes, or dress pasta, such as ORECCHIETTE WITH BROCCOLI AND SAUSAGE or PASTA WITH BROCCOLI AND MUSSELS. If you’re in a hurry you can cook the BROCCOLI IN A PRESSURE COOKER. Now let’s see how to make boiled broccoli and if you try it, tell me. Barbara

How to make Boiled Broccoli
Let’s begin preparing Boiled Broccoli: clean the broccoli, remove any outer leaves, wash it and divide it into florets, preferably all the same size so they have the same cooking time.
Pour water into a pot, set it over heat and bring to a boil. When it starts boiling, add the broccoli florets and cook for about 10 minutes.
Cooking time varies depending on the size of the florets, so I suggest checking doneness by inserting the tines of a fork and shortening or lengthening the cooking time as needed; I recommend checking already halfway through cooking.
When cooked, drain them and season with salt, pepper and extra virgin olive oil.
How to store Boiled Broccoli
You can keep it in the refrigerator for 2-3 days or you can freeze it for a few months.
