How to prepare the Breaded Mortadella
Start preparing the Breaded Mortadella by removing any rind and cutting the mortadella slice into pieces. I cut it into diamond shapes, but you can also cut it into squares or sticks.
Pour some flour into a plate, breadcrumbs into another, and crack the eggs into a bowl, beating them with a fork. Take each piece of mortadella and coat it with flour,
then in the beaten egg,
and then in the breadcrumbs,
place each piece in the tray
and spray with extra virgin oil. Bake in a preheated fan oven at 375°F for 15 minutes, then turn each piece and bake for another 10 minutes. Serve the mortadella hot or at room temperature.
After preparing the mortadella, place it in the basket of your air fryer, spray with oil, and cook at 375°F for 15 minutes. Halfway through, open the basket, turn the mortadella cubes, and continue cooking for the remaining minutes. Serve the Breaded Mortadella cooked in the air fryer hot or at room temperature
After breading the mortadella, heat abundant oil in a pan or air fryer. When the oil is at 350°F, add the pieces of mortadella and fry until golden, turning them for even cooking. Once cooked, remove them from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on absorbent paper to remove excess oil. Serve the fried breaded mortadella hot or at room temperature.
How to store Breaded Mortadella
To best savor the crispness of the breading, I recommend consuming it the same day. Alternatively, store it in the fridge and reheat for a few minutes before eating.
