How to prepare Crostini with lardo
Let’s start preparing the crostini with Colonnata lard by slicing the bread. Then toast them in the toaster on both sides.
Place the slices on a plate and while they are still hot, add a slice of lard so that with the heat, the fat melts and becomes flavorful.
Sprinkle the lard with some pepper and serve the crostini. You can keep them warm in a pan with a lid so that the heat softens the lard well. Serve the crostini hot or warm.
How to store crostini with lardo
I recommend consuming them as soon as they are ready. Alternatively, store them in the refrigerator and then reheat them for a few minutes in a preheated oven or air fryer
