How to make grandma’s bread meatballs

  • Let’s start making grandma’s bread meatballs: cut the stale bread into pieces and place it in a bowl, add the milk and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  • Work with your hands so that the bread absorbs the milk well, you’ll see that you’ll get a homogeneous mixture. Then add the crushed garlic, chopped parsley, and grated cheese, mixing well to blend all the ingredients.

  • With your hands, take some of the mixture and, by rolling it between your hands, form meatballs the size of a walnut.

  • Pour some oil into a pot, place it on the stove and bring it to a temperature of 340°F. Add the meatballs a few at a time to the hot oil and let them brown. Once they are golden, drain them and transfer them to paper towels to absorb the excess oil, then salt them.

  • Place perforated parchment paper in the air fryer basket and arrange the meatballs. Add a few puffs of extra virgin olive oil and cook them at 400°F for 15 minutes, turning them halfway through to ensure they brown well. Once cooked, remove the basket, transfer the meatballs to a plate, and salt them.
