GRATINATED SHRIMP

Gratinated shrimp is an easy and delicious main course to make. For the gratin, I used panko so they are even crunchier and tastier. Panko is a coarser breadcrumb that makes the crust more rustic and flavorful, but you can also use regular breadcrumbs. The oven-baked gratinated shrimp can also be served as an appetizer or to accompany a delightful aperitif. The oven-baked gratinated prawns are very quick to make and simple to prepare, perfect if you have guests. Instead of shrimp, you can use prawns, and the procedure doesn’t change. Now let’s find out how to make gratinated shrimp, and if you try them, let me know. Barbara

How to prepare gratinated shrimp

  • Let’s start preparing the gratinated shrimp. Clean the shrimp by removing the shell but keeping the tail intact, slit the back and use a toothpick to remove the black vein, then rinse them under running water.

  • Pour the panko onto a plate and coat the shrimp, distribute them on the baking tray, and add some grated lemon zest and a few sprays of extra virgin olive oil. Then cut the lemon into thin slices and distribute them over the shrimp

  • Bake in a convection oven at 374°F (190°C) for 10 minutes. When done, take the shrimp out of the oven and serve them hot
