How to make yogurt at home in a simple way, you can easily prepare it, and it’s good and healthy. If you have lactose intolerance, you just need to use a natural lactose-free yogurt and lactose-free milk to have a creamy yogurt suitable for you. I prepare it with a yogurt maker, it’s very easy and makes itself without difficulty because once you’ve mixed the ingredients, you just need to pour it into the yogurt maker’s glass jars and let it rest for the set time, then the yogurt maker will turn off on its own. I use an electric yogurt maker available on the market ( my yogurt maker), there are several types available, including very simple non-electric ones where you just need to pour boiling water, a sort of food thermos where the yogurt rests in the heat emitted by the boiling water. If you like, you can add honey or maple syrup to make it sweeter. You can also garnish it with fresh fruit, cereals, or muesli. To start making homemade yogurt, you can use a jar of natural yogurt or a packet of yogurt starter cultures available at pharmacies or on Amazon. You can then use the jar of yogurt as a starter for another 5/6 times, after which I recommend starting again with a new yogurt or a packet of cultures. How to prepare yogurt at home
Let’s start preparing homemade yogurt, pour a jar of yogurt or a sachet of yogurt cultures into a bowl or jug, add a little milk, and mix well to dissolve, then add the remaining milk and stir.
Now follow the instructions for your yogurt maker, but generally, the process is the same for all yogurt makers of the same type, even if they are of different brands. Pour the milk into the individual jars and place them in the yogurt maker without closing them with the individual lids. Cover with the yogurt maker’s large lid, which will maintain a constant temperature.
Turn on the yogurt maker and set the time. I suggest trying various times to understand the flavor and consistency you prefer. I set it for 15 hours to make it thicker with a stronger flavor, or alternatively, you can start with 12 hours for a creamier texture and milder taste.
Once the yogurt is ready, open the yogurt maker and close the jars with their lids, let them cool, and then store them in the refrigerator for at least 4/5 hours before consuming so they cool and solidify further.
Use a jar of this yogurt to make new jars. Just save one and repeat the initial process.
