Ingredients for making Nutella Pastry Cream
- 4 egg yolks
- 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- 5 tbsps cornstarch
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 tbsps Nutella®
- 2 cups milk
How to make Nutella Pastry Cream
Let’s start preparing the Nutella Pastry Cream. Separate the eggs and pour the yolks into a saucepan, add the powdered sugar and whisk until light. If you want, you can use an electric mixer.
Add a pinch of salt, the cornstarch, and continue mixing until you obtain a smooth, lump-free mixture.
Add the Nutella to the previously prepared mixture and incorporate it into the other ingredients.
Heat the milk in a saucepan or microwave, but do not bring it to a boil.
Gradually add the hot milk to the mixture to prevent lumps. Place the pan on the stove and stir continuously to avoid sticking to the pot.
When the Nutella Pastry Cream is ready, remove it from the heat, pour it into a plate, and cover it with plastic wrap, making sure it adheres well to the cream. This way, it won’t form a skin. Let it cool and use it as you prefer, or store it in the fridge to cool and set.
How to store the Nutella Pastry Cream
Store it in the refrigerator for 2/3 days
