How to Make Orange Meatballs

  • Let’s start preparing the Orange Meatballs, pour the ground meat into a bowl, add the egg,

  • extra virgin olive oil,

  • chopped parsley,

  • the breadcrumbs

  • and mix everything well.

  • Take some of the meat, form meatballs the size of an apricot by rolling them between your hands. Do not make them too large to ensure even cooking and they are well cooked inside,

  • then roll them in the flour.

  • Squeeze the oranges and set the juice aside.

  • Pour rosemary, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil into a large pan, let it flavor for a few minutes,

  • add the meatballs and let them brown well.

  • When they are well golden, deglaze with the wine and let the alcohol evaporate completely,

  • when the alcohol has evaporated, deglaze with the orange juice,

  • cover with the lid and let cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. If you see that the cooking sauce thickens too much, you can add a few tablespoons of vegetable broth or water.
