Preheat the fan oven to 356°F (180°C), cut the mozzarella into pieces, and remove the oil from the sautéed mushrooms.

  • Take a slice of bread, lay it on the baking dish, add a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, a few tablespoons of tomato sauce, and spread it over the entire slice; it should be a thin layer. Sprinkle with oregano, add mozzarella, ham, and mushrooms, and cover with the second slice of bread.

  • Continue in this way using all 5 slices of white sandwich bread and season as with the other layers.
