Ingredients for making the ricotta tart in the air fryer

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 6 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • 16 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • as needed strawberry jam (or 1/4 cup chocolate chips)

How to make the ricotta tart in the air fryer

  • Start preparing the ricotta tart in the air fryer by pouring the flour, powdered sugar, and cold refrigerated butter cut into pieces into a bowl, mix until a sandy texture is obtained.

  • Add a pinch of salt, vanilla, and the egg, knead until obtaining the classic compact shortcrust pastry. Transfer it between two sheets of parchment paper, roll it out thin with a rolling pin and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  • Meanwhile, pour the ricotta into a bowl, add the powdered sugar and mix until you get a cream. If you want, you can sift the ricotta and then add the sugar.

  • Take the shortcrust pastry from the refrigerator, place it on the pan, adhere it well to the base and edges, then remove the excess pastry that extends beyond the edge, use it to create strips to decorate the tart, knead and roll it out again if needed.

  • With the tines of a fork, prick the base, pour the ricotta cream, spread it, and add a layer of strawberry jam or alternatively chocolate chips and decorate with the shortcrust strips.

  • Place the tart in the air fryer basket and cook at 320°F for 20 minutes.

  • Once cooking is complete, take the tart out of the air fryer basket and let it cool before removing it from the mold and slicing it.
