How to Make Valentine’s Day Puff Pastry Bites

  • Let’s start preparing the Valentine’s Day Puff Pastry Bites; unroll the puff pastry on a surface, place the longer side facing you, cut the shorter side in half, and the longer side into 3 parts, obtaining 6 rectangles.

  • On the top part of each rectangle, make a heart-shaped cutout; on the opposite part, spread the strawberry jam evenly, but not too much, as it may ooze out during baking.

  • Fold the puff pastry so that the heart cutout aligns with the jam.

  • Use a fork to press around each pastry to seal the edges and prevent the jam from leaking. Score with a knife without cutting, starting from the upper corners and reaching the heart, creating the look of an envelope tip.

  • Brush the puff pastry with milk and sprinkle with brown sugar.

  • Bake in a static oven at 350°F for 20 minutes.

  • For air fryer cooking, if all 6 pieces don’t fit, cook them in two batches without overlapping for a more even result.

  • Cook at 375°F for 12 minutes, and before removing from the basket, ensure they are golden and puffed; the cooking time may vary depending on the air fryer type.

  • Let them cool before serving.

How to Store Valentine’s Day Puff Pastry Bites

Store at room temperature for 1 day; after that, the puff pastry won’t be as crisp and flaky as when freshly baked.
