Zucchini flowers in an air fryer are crunchy and breaded without batter; they are easy to prepare and perfect to accompany any main dish. The zucchini flowers without batter in an air fryer can also be stuffed with cooked ham, mozzarella, or anchovies depending on your taste. To make crispy air-fried flowers, just spray a few puffs on the flowers with the sprayer; you can cook them directly in the basket of your fryer or place them on perforated baking paper suitable for air fryer cooking, or use the perforated tray as I did, so as not to dirty the basket. The cooking time of Zucchini Flowers in Air Fryer may vary depending on the type of air fryer you use (I use this air fryer HERE). How to prepare zucchini flowers in an air fryer
Let’s start preparing zucchini flowers in the air fryer. Quickly wash the zucchini flowers under running water and gently pat them dry with a paper towel. Remove the stem and the sepals at the base, gently open the flower, and remove the internal pistil by pinching it with two fingers and twisting the flower, which will detach the pistil easily without breaking the flower.
Pour the eggs into a dish and beat them with a fork, pour flour into one dish and breadcrumbs into another.
Dip the flowers in the flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally in the breadcrumbs. Arrange them on the tray or in the air fryer basket and spray with oil.
Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes, turning the flowers halfway through cooking. Before removing them from the fryer, make sure they are golden and crispy; otherwise, continue cooking for a few more minutes. The time may vary depending on the type of air fryer.
Once done, remove the zucchini flowers from the air fryer and season with salt. Serve the zucchini flowers in the air fryer immediately.
How to store zucchini flowers in an air fryer
You can store them at room temperature for 1 day. To enjoy their best fragrance, I recommend consuming them the same day.
