Ingredients

  • 10.6 oz cherries (weight after pitting (about 2 cups))
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Half tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.9 oz almonds (to toast and grind (about 2 tbsp))
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp butter (cold)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tbsp sliced almonds

For the cherry crumble you will need

  • 2 Bowls
  • 1 Food processor
  • 1 Baking dish

Preparation – cherry crumble

  • Wash, dry and pit the cherries until you reach a weight of 10.6 oz.
    Place them in a bowl with the sugar, lemon juice and cornstarch. Mix well.
    Pour the cherries into a buttered baking dish (or into individual cocottes).

  • Toast the almonds in a pan or in the oven, let them cool and chop them with half a tablespoon of sugar. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, almond flour, and salt and mix.
    Add the cold butter cut into cubes and work with your fingertips until you obtain a crumbly mixture.

  • Evenly distribute the crumble over the cherries without pressing down too much.
    Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 30–35 minutes, until golden.
    Let your cherry crumble cool slightly before serving.
