Ingredients

  • 1 cup (about 3.5 oz / 100 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup (about 6 fl oz / 170 ml) water (at room temperature)
  • 3 tbsp (about 2.1 oz / 60 g) millefiori honey

Preparation of the cocoa spread

The preparation of the COCOA SPREAD is truly child’s play.

  • Place all the ingredients — cocoa, water and honey — in the mixer. If the honey is crystallized (which is perfectly natural and also an indicator of quality), you can, for convenience, warm it for a few seconds in the microwave so you can measure and use it more easily.

    Run the blender at maximum power for 30 seconds, until you obtain a homogeneous, smooth and frothy mixture. Don’t be surprised: a little miracle happens in just a few seconds!

    Transfer the obtained spread into a sterilized jar and store it in the refrigerator for 7–10 days.

  • The spread is not very sweet to the palate, so if you love dark (bitter) flavors it will be perfect for you. If instead you want it sweeter, increase the amount of honey or use a sweetener.
    For a vegan version, you can replace the honey with agave syrup.
