Peeling almonds is an easy and quick method to have almonds ready for any use, such as a healthy breakfast with nuts, as a snack, to enrich an aperitif or dishes we prefer, both cooked and raw. We have two methods to peel them, one is to soak the almonds for 8/10 hours and the other for just 3 minutes in boiling water. Let’s see how to do it..

How to Peel Almonds
Peeling almonds is really very simple and quick if we start from already shelled almonds as I did. You can buy them already shelled and the first thing we’ll do as soon as we open the bag is wash them in cold water and check that they are all clean and intact.
After choosing which of the two methods to use, cold water or bain-marie, soak them for the necessary time. If you use the cold water method, the almonds should be left to soak for 8/12 hours, if you opt for the bain-marie method, after bringing the water to a boil, turn off the gas and immerse the almonds for 3 minutes.
Now drain the almonds in cold water (even running water is fine) and let them cool completely.
For both methods, finally, we will use a cotton towel to dry them and rub them vigorously so that most of the skin comes off automatically, and it will be enough to apply very light pressure with your hands on the skin of each almond to finish peeling them quickly.
Now that we know how to peel almonds, all that’s left is to eat them and enjoy them simply or to enrich the recipes and dishes we like the most.

Can almonds be salted?
Of course, they can be salted, just coat them with a little extra virgin olive oil and add a pinch of salt.
Can almonds be cooked in the microwave?
The same rule as the gas applies. That is, as soon as the water boils, remove the container from the microwave and immerse the almonds for the same 3 minutes.
