Today I baked the cookies, American cookie recipe. Who doesn’t know them?
They are the symbol of the USA, soft and buttery, super delicious, with lots of chocolate chips. And they are very easy to prepare. They are also known as Chocolate Chip Cookies and they originated in 1930, thanks to Ruth Wakefield. The lady prepared the cookies for the guests of the Toll House Inn. And one day, having run out of the cocoa powder she usually used, she used a chocolate bar chopped into small pieces. The result was a huge success!
There are many variations of this fantastic recipe, the original one calls for the use of brown sugar. It is a caramelized sugar that gives the cookies a soft and crunchy texture. It can be replaced with cane sugar if you can’t find it.
Cookies can be enjoyed at any time of the day and are a perfect gift for those with a sweet tooth.
