Ingredients for Date and Walnut Cake

  • 5.3 oz dates (pitted and chopped)
  • 3.5 oz walnuts (shelled and chopped)
  • 5.3 oz sugar
  • 7.1 oz flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Preparation of the Date and Walnut Cake

  • In a bowl, beat the whole eggs with the sugar until you get a frothy and light mixture.

Gradually add the flour, letting it fall like rain, and gently mix with a wooden spoon.

Add the chopped dates and walnuts. Mix the batter and finally add a pinch of cinnamon and a teaspoon of baking powder. If the batter seems too thick, you can add a splash of milk.

  • Pour the mixture into a rectangular baking pan, previously buttered and floured.

Bake the date and walnut cake in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 10 minutes.

After this time, test the cake with a wooden stick. If it comes out dry, the cake is ready.

Then, take it out of the oven and let it cool. Before serving, cut the cake into many small squares and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Tip

You can accompany this cake with whipped cream. In this case, divide the cake into individual slices.

Storage of the Date and Walnut Cake

The cake keeps for 5-6 days, stored in a suitable container.
