I prepared these delicious baked chips (for a lighter result), but you can also fry them. In fact, the carrots are sliced very thinly, so they cook perfectly and are nice and crispy!

For making carrot chips, you’ll need very few ingredients and just a few steps. So, let’s discover this fantastic recipe, also suitable for encouraging kids to eat vegetables.

Ingredients for Light Baked Carrot Chips

  • 14 oz carrots
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 cubes extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 pinches salt

Preparation of Light Baked Carrot Chips

  • Peel the carrots, trim the ends, and rinse them under running water.

Dry the carrots thoroughly and, using a vegetable peeler, slice them thinly. I recommend slicing the carrots crossways.

  • Pour the extra virgin olive oil into a bowl and add the carrot slices. Add the salt and mix well.

  • In another bowl, place the flour and coat the carrot slices. Then, use a sieve to remove the excess flour.

  • Spread the carrot chips evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzle with a bit of oil.

Bake the carrot chips in a preheated oven at 285°F for 40-45 minutes. Turn the chips halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Tips

You can also season the light baked carrot chips with spices like rosemary or pepper.

You can also fry the carrot chips. In this case, after slicing, immerse them in hot oil for a couple of minutes and drain on paper towels. Finally, add salt.
