Nua Cake with Gianduiotti and Custard: the dessert soft as a cloud with a delicious filling.

Nua Cake with Gianduiotti and custard is a very soft and delicious dessert. We’re talking about one of the most famous desserts on the Internet and social media, so much so that it is called the ‘webstar of pastry.’

In reality, the Nua Cake is a simple dessert, and its surprising softness is due to the addition of cream in the batter. Of course, there are many versions of this dessert, the most famous being with cherries or hazelnut cream.

I thought of proposing it with gianduiotti to make it even more delicious. I assure you the result is excellent!

Ingredients for Nua Cake with Gianduiotti

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp cornstarch (maizena)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tbsp sunflower seed oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1/2 packet vanillin
  • 5.3 oz gianduia chocolate
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

Preparation of the Nua Cake with Gianduiotti

  • In a small saucepan, combine the egg yolks with the sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Mix the ingredients well with a whisk.

  • Then, pour the milk little by little, stirring and bringing to a low heat. Continue stirring until the cream thickens (it will take between 5 and 7 minutes).

  • Now, remove the cream from the heat and pour it into a bowl, covering it with plastic wrap in contact. Then, set aside and let cool.

  • In a large bowl, combine the egg yolks with the sugar and start working them with the electric whisk.

Then, add the egg whites and whip the eggs until they are frothy.

  • Pour in the milk and sunflower seed oil, continuing to mix with the whisks. Then, add the sifted flour with the baking powder and vanillin.

  • Set aside six gianduiotti and add the remaining to the batter.

  • Pour the mixture into a buttered and floured cake pan, finish with the custard, which you need to spoon on the surface of the cake.

Finally, distribute the reserved gianduiotti, slightly sinking them into the batter.

  • Bake the Nua Cake with Gianduiotti in a preheated oven at 350°F for 40 minutes.

  • After the cooking time, take the Nua Cake out of the oven and let it cool slightly.

When serving, sprinkle the top of the cake with powdered sugar.
