Ingredients for Puff Pastry Bundles with Mushrooms and Scamorza

  • 2 rolls puff pastry
  • 5.3 oz scamorza
  • 8.8 oz porcini mushrooms
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2.7 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 pinches salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Preparation of Puff Pastry Bundles with Mushrooms and Scamorza

  • In a pan, heat the EVO oil and brown the garlic clove.

Add the cleaned, diced mushrooms and sauté for a couple of minutes. Then, salt and continue cooking covered for 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and let cool.

  • Cut the scamorza into small cubes and add it to the mushrooms, mixing well.

Roll out the two puff pastry sheets and evenly distribute the filling on both.

Now, roll the pastries tightly and brush them with the egg, slightly beaten.

Finally, sprinkle the surface with sesame seeds and cut the rolls into slices about 1.2 inches thick (you should get eight from each, totaling 16 bundles).

  • Place the puff pastry rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 356°F for 20 minutes.

    Serve the bundles hot.

Suggestions

You can replace porcini mushrooms with champignon mushrooms; similarly, you can substitute the scamorza with smoked scamorza for an even more intense flavor.
