Ingredients for Tuna alla pizzaiola

  • 4 steaks tuna
  • 2 cups canned cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup Taggiasca olives
  • 2 tablespoons salted capers
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt

Preparation of Tuna alla pizzaiola

  • Sear the tuna steaks on a grill or a very hot non-stick plate.

Brown the steaks on both sides, turning them gently with a spatula.

  • Meanwhile, in a pan, sauté the garlic clove with three tablespoons of oil. Add the peeled tomatoes, season with salt, and let cook for 6-7 minutes.

Add the pitted Taggiasca olives and the capers, after removing the salt, and let cook for another 5 minutes.

  • Place the tuna steaks in the pan with the sauce, adding a bit of fresh chopped parsley.

Cover the pan and let cook for another 15 minutes at medium heat, making sure to turn the tuna steaks with a spatula halfway through cooking.

When serving, sprinkle the tuna steaks with the remaining parsley.

Tip

You can cook swordfish steaks or cod instead of tuna. In the case of cod, it is not necessary to sear it, but after cleaning it, place it directly in the pan with the sauce.

You can replace the parsley with 2 tablespoons of oregano.
