Today, I want to suggest a fun idea to prepare, perhaps for kids when they don’t feel like eating meat. Here is my fake potato and meat pie.
It is a sort of potato gateau alternated with meat, in this case, a meatloaf and vegetables. When you bring this fake potato and meat pie to the table, I’m sure your guests will ask twice how it’s made, but I assure you it’s really easy and very good.
But now let’s see together how to prepare it in the following recipe.

Steps
The preparation of this fake potato and meat pie involves making 2 big meatballs, mashed potatoes, and vegetables, and assembling the pie. I know it would be easier to serve the dishes separately, but I never liked easy things and you wouldn’t get the desired wow effect.
Let’s start systematically: prepare the big meatballs with the ground meat. In a bowl, combine the ground meat with the eggs, breadcrumbs, a little milk, and various seasonings with parsley, mix everything, and weigh the mixture. Now divide it into 2 equal parts.
At this point, place the first mixture in an 18 cm springform pan and flatten well to form a big meatball or hamburger if you prefer. Do the same with the second mixture.
Once you have the 2 meatballs, cook them in plenty of oil on both sides, it will take a while, use the lid for slow cooking over moderate heat, and turn the meatballs several times. Once they are cooked, place the big meatballs on kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.
Now prepare the mashed potatoes as you usually do, although I recommend THIS RECIPE because it’s delicious and creamy.
Now focus on cooking the vegetables: just drizzle some oil in a pan, add the carrots and peas and a bit of water, and let cook for about 5-6 minutes, then season to taste; I just add salt.
At this point, start assembling your fake potato and meat pie:
on a serving plate, place the first big meatball, then use a piping bag to add mashed potatoes and fill the first layer, also adding some vegetables as seen in the photo above.
Now place the second meatball and garnish with plenty of mashed potatoes.
Then coat the entire fake pie as you would with cream for a classic cake.
Finally, insert a large star tip into the piping bag and make final decorations on top of your fake pie such as swirls or tufts if you prefer. In the center, add some more vegetables and decorate with roasted onion around the edges.
At this point, your fake pie is ready to be served. Enjoy your meal.

The preparation of this Fake Potato Pie requires some speed, so I recommend keeping the various dishes warm while preparing the next ones. Alternatively, you can reheat the finished pie for about 5 minutes at 392°F.
