Matcha Cappuccino with Green Tea and Coconut for Keto Breakfast

in

Today we make a special matcha cappuccino, both for flavor and for its beneficial properties for the whole body. It is a green tea beverage, excellent for breakfast; in this case keto, because today we use low-carb coconut milk and coconut cream that provide a good amount of fats and proteins. Naturally you can also use only water for a light and super dietetic drink, still very rich in beneficial properties, just like this Elixir of Wellness.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz water (hot, maximum 176°F)
  • 3.5 oz coconut milk (or another variant to taste)
  • 3 tbsps coconut cream (or dairy cream for those who prefer)
  • 1 teaspoon Matcha green tea
  • 10 almonds

Tools

Preparation

  • Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder directly into a cup, then add 3 tablespoons of hot water (no more than 176°F so as not to destroy matcha’s properties, measurable with a simple and inexpensive kitchen thermometer like this).

Mix following Japanese tradition using the special bamboo whisk called a chasen .

If you don’t have that tool you can use this small whisk, which fits well inside a cup.

Or the classic electric milk frother — otherwise simply stir with a teaspoon until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps. Then add the remaining hot water.

  • At this point, place the coconut cream + the plant milk (warmed) in a tall, narrow container and work it with a milk frother or an immersion blender. Either is fine, until you obtain a mixture similar to semi-whipped cream.

Transfer the coconut mixture you just made directly into the cup with the matcha powder.

The matcha cappuccino is ready to enjoy together with 10 almonds, perfect for a keto breakfast (total: 7 g carbohydrates; 3.6 g protein; 15 g fat). Delicious and filling, and of course valuable for the health of the whole body — a true Elixir of long life.
