COCOA SHORTCRUST MASKS FOR CARNIVAL

Cocoa shortcrust masks are sweet shortcrust cookies that can be baked to celebrate Carnival with our children.

Last year I suggested the SHORTCRUST CARNIVAL MASKS and today I am offering the cocoa version, even more delicious and really easy to make: you won’t need a mold, just draw a mask on a sheet of paper, cut it out and voilà 🙂

Place the paper on the shortcrust (make sure not on the side where you wrote) and cut it out with a small knife 😉

Let’s see how I made them 😉

  • You can print a drawing of a carnival mask, or make it by hand like I did, on a piece of paper and then let your inner art attack begin and cut it out with rounded-tip scissors.

MAKE SURE to place the stencil on the clean side of the paper, not where you drew 🙂

  • Once the shortcrust is made and rested in the fridge, take it out to acclimate by working it a bit with your hands: roll out the shortcrust with the rolling pin on a lightly floured work surface and roll out to a couple of centimeters thick.

  • Place the stencil on top and cut with a fine-pointed knife (I helped myself with a small scalpel that I use for BREAD )

    Cutting out the masks
  • Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 320°F fan (356°F static) for about 15 minutes.

Obviously, each of us has a different oven so adjust with yours, it might need more or less time.

  • Once baked, let them cool on a cake rack, in the meantime melt the chocolate in a bain-marie and once melted, dip the cookies halfway, finally sprinkle with colored sprinkles,

    Cookies drying
  • Let them dry for about an hour before eating them 🙂

  • The COCOA SHORTCRUST MASKS FOR CARNIVAL are ready to be bitten by the kids and enjoyed with a steaming cup of tea, by the adults 🙂
