EASY AND BUTTERLESS STAR-SHAPED APPLE CAKE

The classic apple pie shaped as a Christmas star, a dessert to make during the holiday season, BUTTERLESS for a lighter and very easy recipe.

Often we don’t know which dessert recipe to choose during the Christmas period and if you’re tired of making the classic PANETTONE or PANDORO, here’s a truly scenic alternative: the APPLE CAKE in a star mold 🙂

Very useful could also be the FAKE PANDORO, a dessert to make in a pandoro mold but much faster 🙂

EASY AND BUTTERLESS STAR-SHAPED APPLE CAKE
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 30 Minutes
  • Portions: 1
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Christmas

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp sunflower seed oil
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 7 tbsp water
  • 3 apples
  • 1 packet vanillin
  • lemon juice
  • 1 packet baking powder

Tools

For the success of the recipe, I recommend these tools (ADV)

  • Molds star-shaped paper
  • Electric mixers

Steps

  • First, in a bowl, crack open two eggs, add the sugar, and start whisking. Wait until a lighter cream forms, it will take a few minutes.

  • Gradually add all the ingredients, incorporating them one by one.

  • Peel the apples, remove the core, and cut them into wedges about 1/4 inch wide

  • I recommend resting the mold inside a baking tray or oven pot because the soft mixture might be difficult to transport to the oven manually

Pour the mixture into the star mold and decorate with the apples following the star lines

  • Preheat the oven to 356°F fan-assisted and once it reaches the temperature, bake.

It will take about 40 minutes to bake.

  • Once baked, let it cool well before cutting.

  • The EASY AND BUTTERLESS STAR-SHAPED APPLE CAKE is ready 😉

In apple cakes, the shelf life is shorter compared to a classic cake because the moisture of the batter creates mold after a few days. Always store in a well-sealed cake carrier.
