SAVORY CHRISTMAS TREE SANDWICHES: THE EASY APPETIZER THAT IMPRESSES
The recipe for very scenic and easy-to-make Christmas appetizers to bring the joy and magic of the holidays to the table.
This is the classic easy and quick recipe to present on Christmas Day:
CHRISTMAS TREE APPETIZERS
There are really many ways to fill them: with smoked salmon, with ham, with mortadella, spreadable cheese, and much more.
I opted for the classic tuna and mayonnaise, easy and quick. I also added olives to decorate the tree as if they were ornaments.
The idea is good, and the result is very cute. The children liked it a lot.
If you don’t have wooden sticks, breadsticks are great to use as the base 🙂
EMIMETTOAIFORNELLI recommends:
- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very economical
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 6
- Cuisine: Italian
INGREDIENTS FOR 6 MINI TREES
- 6 slices sandwich bread
- 3.5 tbsp mayonnaise
- 3.5 oz black olives in brine (pitted)
- 2 cans canned tuna in water
Tools
- 6 Toothpicks
- 6 Sticks
Preparing the Cream
To make the cream:
first, combine the tuna with the mayonnaise (I wrote approximately 3.5 tablespoons, but it’s to taste, you can also add a few more tablespoons).
Cut a slice of sandwich bread in half and cut into triangles.
On one slice, spread the cream made with tuna and mayonnaise and close.
Insert the stick in the middle (alternatively, a breadstick is also fine)
Spread mayonnaise over the surface of the tree and place our olives (already cleaned under running water) as if they were tree ornaments.
Lastly, using a toothpick, skewer a whole olive and insert it at the top of the sandwich as if it were the star of our tree 🙂
