SWEET DANUBE CHRISTMAS TREE: SOFT RECIPE WITH CHOCOLATE STEP BY STEP
The step-by-step recipe for making the sweet Danube filled with Nutella in the shape of a Christmas tree, perfect also as a Christmas gift.
This is the classic recipe that cannot be missed on Christmas Day:
SWEET DANUBE CHRISTMAS TREE
A cute way to present a breakfast treat, and your kids will be very happy.
As we know, Christmas 2020 will be different: as the news says we will not be able to leave the municipalities for Christmas lunch and after 5 years, I will not be able to go to my mother-in-law’s house to eat super delicious things. So we decided to set up live broadcasts in the morning.
But for Christmas Eve, surely, as every year, we will go to my mother’s for dinner as every year 🙂
But let’s move on to the dessert, really simple to make, with lots of chocolate chips that make it even more delicious 🙂
Let’s see how I made it.

Tools
I recommend these tools for the successful outcome of the recipe (ADV)
- Work Surface
- Bowl
- Stand Mixer
Preparation of the Dough
First, let’s make the dough:
In a stand mixer (but you can easily do it by hand in a bowl), start by adding the flour, the egg, and dissolve the yeast with a bit of warm milk. (if you use fresh yeast, dissolve it in 40 ml of milk plus a teaspoon of sugar which helps to activate the yeast, and wait about 10 minutes. The yeast will be active when foam forms on the surface)
Start assembling the ingredients by activating the stand mixer with the hook and gradually add all the rest, only finally the chocolate chips.
Transfer the dough onto a surface and work the ingredients until a smooth dough ball is formed, which does not stick to your hands (if you see it’s too soft, add 1 or 2 tablespoons of flour as needed)
Place our dough in the bowl we used, make a cross cut on top, and cover with plastic wrap.
Let it rise for about 4 hours.
Once the rising time has passed, transfer to the work surface and knead the dough a bit more to form a ball:
divide it into many pieces of about 50 g and form our balls.
On a baking sheet, start from the bottom making the trunk and gradually form the tree.
Let rise for another hour.
Once it has risen well, let’s bake:
preheat the oven to 350°F static, 320°F with fan. In a cup, beat the egg with the milk and brush the entire surface with a kitchen brush.
Bake for about 20 minutes
A dusting of powdered sugar and
SWEET DANUBE CHRISTMAS TREE is ready to be enjoyed.
