Apple Swirls
Sweet treats made with a shortcrust pastry base and filled with apples! The swirls are very easy to prepare and are perfect to start the day off right, as an afternoon snack, and also as a dessert at the end of a meal. Instead of making the usual tart with the pastry, try making these delicious swirls.

Ingredients for Apple Swirls:
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 7 tbsps butter
- salt
- Half packet baking powder
- lemon zest
- 2 apples
- 2 tbsps butter
- 3 tbsps sugar
- ground cinnamon
Steps

Pastry preparation: Start working the butter at room temperature with the sugar. Add the eggs, some lemon zest, and a pinch of salt.
Add the flour little by little. Knead quickly until obtaining a homogeneous dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap.
Place in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Filling preparation:
Clean and dice the apples. After about 30 minutes, roll out the pastry on baking paper. Form a rectangle.
Spread some butter on top and add the apples. Add a bit of sugar and cinnamon.
Roll it up and place in the freezer for about 30 minutes to ease cutting. After about 30 minutes, cut it into slices.
Place them on the baking sheet upside down. Add some more sugar on top and bake at 350°F for about 40 minutes.
