Cake with Leftover Sponge Cake and Apples
How many times have you baked a cake and been left with some Sponge Cake and didn’t know what to do with it? It happens to me often, and since I was tired of truffles, I decided to make another cake 😁. To make it a bit more special, I enriched it with my favorite apples, and it turned out to be a delicious breakfast cake for a few days! A very simple and quick recipe, perfect for recycling not only Sponge Cake but also leftover Colomba, Panettone, or Pandoro.

Ingredients for the Cake with Leftover Sponge Cake and Apples:
7 inch pan
- 7 oz sponge cake (Leftover)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2 apples
- 1 egg
- Half packet baking powder for desserts
- 1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup sugar
- rum flavoring
Steps
The preparation of the Cake with Leftover Sponge Cake and Apples is very simple and quick, watch the video HERE.
First, chop the leftover Sponge Cake, add the sugar, cocoa, and mix.
Add the baking powder, milk, oil, egg, a little rum flavoring, and mix. Clean and dice the apples.
Add them to the mixture. Mix well and put the obtained mixture in a floured 7 inch pan. Compact it.
Bake at 356°F for about 30/40 minutes.
