Candied Figs
A simple recipe made in no time with fresh figs, water, sugar, and aromas. Since they’re still around, I recommend making a few jars of these candied figs that can be enjoyed simply on bread, paired with cheese, or we can use them in dessert recipes. If you like figs, also try making some Fig Jam without Peels or Sugar-Free Fig Jam!
I also recommend trying these sweet recipes with figs:

- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Affordable
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 2/3
- Cooking methods: Stove
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Summer
Ingredients for candied figs:
- 2.2 lbs figs
- 2.25 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- lemon zest
- cinnamon stick
Steps
The preparation of candied figs is very simple, watch the video HERE.
In a saucepan, put the water, lemon peel, sugar, and boil for about 20 minutes. Then add the whole figs previously washed and cook for about 40 minutes, stirring gently every now and then.
At the end, add the cinnamon. Immediately put them in previously sterilized jars and cover them with the syrup. It is very important that the figs are covered with syrup.
Close the jars and turn them upside down to achieve the vacuum effect!
Enjoy your meal!
