Chocolate and Cream Treats

The chocolate and cream treats are small indulgent pleasures perfect for any time of the day. Soft cream enveloped by layers of chocolate sponge cake, these treats combine sweetness and intense flavor in every bite. Easy to prepare, they can be served as a dessert, snack, or even as a homemade indulgent gift. A real temptation for both adults and children!

Ingredients for Chocolate and Cream Treats:

  • 7 oz sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 5 egg whites
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Half packet baking powder
  • vanilla
  • salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 8 oz whipping cream
  • lemon zest

  • Base Preparation:

    Mix half of the sugar with the yolks and half with the egg whites. Whip the egg whites until stiff. Add a pinch of salt to the yolks and whip.

  • Add vanilla flavoring, oil, cocoa, flour, baking powder

  • mix. Gradually incorporate the egg whites. Place the resulting mixture in a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle and level.

  • Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes. Take the baked and cooled base and cut it in half. Obtain two equal shapes.

  • Cream Preparation:

    In a saucepan, put the egg, sugar, cornstarch, and mix. Add the milk gradually and the lemon peel.

  • Bring it to the heat to thicken, stirring occasionally. Once thickened, transfer it to a container, cover with plastic wrap and let it cool.

  • Once well chilled, remove the lemon peel and add the whipped cream. Mix.

    Assembly:

    Place the first piece of Sponge Cake (for a more precise result you can use an adjustable mold lined with plastic wrap).

  • Soak with syrup to taste and add the cream obtained. Level. Place the second piece of Sponge Cake on top,

  • soak and refrigerate until the next day. The next day, remove the mold and cut into desired size pieces.

  • Place them on paper cups and decorate as desired.

  • Enjoy your meal!

Storage:

In the refrigerator: they keep for up to 3-4 days in an airtight container, to maintain the cream soft and fresh.
