Chocolate Pinecones
Aren’t they cute?! Not to mention how DELICIOUS they are 🤩 I’ll be honest, I’ve been wanting to share my version of pinecones with you since last year, which is very simple and uses only 4 INGREDIENTS: Sponge Cake, Mascarpone, Chocolate, and of course the cereal Choco pops. I’ll tell you another thing, if you don’t have leftover Sponge Cake, you can also use leftover Panettone or Pandoro, which surely won’t be missing these days☺️. To get a top dessert, I recommend using good chocolate because I assure you it will make the difference!

Ingredients for Chocolate Pinecones:
(8 pinecones)
- 5 1/2 oz sponge cake
- 1/2 cup mascarpone
- 3 1/2 oz chocolate
- 5 1/2 oz cereal
- 5 1/2 dark chocolate (For the coating)
Steps
The preparation of chocolate pinecones is very simple and requires no cooking, watch the video HERE.
First, melt the chocolate (3 1/2 oz) in a double boiler or in the microwave. Add the crumbled sponge cake and mix. Add the mascarpone and mix until you get a homogeneous mixture. Take a little mixture at a time and shape it with your hands.
Try to form a sort of cone. Continue until the mixture is used up. I made 8 cones. Once ready, put them in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Then melt the dark chocolate (5 1/2 oz) and stick a toothpick into the cone and dip it in the chocolate.
Immediately surround the pinecone with the cereal to form the pinecone shape. Gently remove the toothpick and continue with the others. Let the chocolate harden for a few minutes.
Enjoy!
