Chocolate Semifreddo

The warm season begins, and we want refreshing things, and I’ve already started preparing semifreddos 😁 As you well know, I love them because they can be prepared in advance (when we have time) and kept in the freezer until needed, so we always have a dessert ready at any moment! Chocolate is always appreciated by everyone, so I recommend this very simple dessert to prepare!

Ingredients for the chocolate semifreddo:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • rum flavoring
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • cocoa biscuits (Or Chocolate Sponge Cake)

Steps

The preparation of the chocolate semifreddo is very simple and quick, watch the video HERE.

  • In a saucepan, put the sugar, cornstarch, cocoa, and mix. Gradually add the milk while stirring. Bring to heat to thicken.

  • Stir occasionally. Once thickened, turn off the heat and add the butter,

  • Add a bit of rum flavoring and mix. Cover with plastic wrap and let cool. Once cooled, combine it with the cream.

  • Lightly whip. Add some broken biscuits or chocolate sponge cake and mix. Pour the resulting mixture into a mold.

  • Level it, cover, and place it in the freezer for a few hours.

  • Enjoy!
