Chocolate Viennetta

Chocolate Viennetta

Since the classic Viennetta ice cream cake was very successful, upon popular request, I’ve also made the chocolate version! So, if you’re like my husband and love chocolate, I absolutely recommend making it! A very simple and quick ice cream cake to prepare, perfect for serving at any time of the day or bringing to friends or family! I decided to use two types of chocolate in this cake, milk chocolate for the cream and dark chocolate for the strips 🍫. If you’re already thinking about a dessert for Ferragosto, I recommend this one!

Ingredients for the chocolate viennetta:

  • 5.64 oz dark chocolate
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 10.58 oz milk chocolate

Steps

The preparation of the chocolate viennetta is very simple and quick, watch the video HERE.

  • First, take a sheet of parchment paper and draw three shapes of the mold you will use with a pencil. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate and spread a thin layer over each shape (it should be divided into 4 parts).

  • Put the shapes in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes to harden the chocolate. Spread a thin layer of chocolate (the leftover one) on the bottom of the mold lined with plastic wrap or use a silicone mold.

  • We put it in the fridge for a few minutes to harden the chocolate.

    Cream preparation:

Pour about half of the hot cream over the chocolate and mix to melt it completely. Once melted

  • mix it for a few seconds with the whisk, then add the remaining very cold cream and whip it. If you see it not whipping, put the container in the fridge for a few minutes.

  • Assembly:

Place a layer of cream in the mold over the hardened chocolate, add a chocolate strip, add another layer of cream, and continue like this, alternating layers of cream and chocolate.

  • Cover and put in the freezer for a few hours. Before serving, decorate as desired.

  • Enjoy your meal!
